Jolicoeur at the Beach
Not too long ago Joey deVilla at The Accordion Guy promised to send me one of his Tucows herd. She arrived in the mail the other day . Before I could say "welcome" she complained for ten minutes about American customs, took a deep breath, and introduced herself as "Jolicoeur, one of the Montréal Tucows."
A French-Canadian Tucow. I guess that's why Joey sent her to me.
Anyway, Jolicoeur wanted to see the beach first thing. So off we went, and here are the pictures from that day...

My new friend, Jolicoeur, making her first trip to Redington Shores Beach in St. Petersburg, FL

Jolicoeur couldn't get a trolley to stop so we ended up walking.

They have a handball court with a cute painting of fish and assorted other sea creatures welcoming you to Redington Shores. Jolicoeur said she always wanted to kiss a fish.

Jolicoeur made me take this photo. I thought it was corny and reminded me of people who pretend to hold up the Leaning Tower of Pisa. She told me it was "Piza" and that's where the food got its name, but I whipped out my phone and showed her the Wikipedia entry. She called me a nerd.

Jolicoeur was happy to see this sign. She was worried she wouldn't be allowed on the beach. I told her I'd seen cows on the beach before.
"Not Québécoises cows," she said.
I had to admit she was correct.

OK, I had to buy her flip flops before she moved down. Excuse me for not knowing how to convert metric shoe sizes to standard.

Jolicoeur said she didn't realize how hot it was on the beach, but she was most concerned she'd go from rare to well done.
She makes a lot of sick jokes like that.

I buried her in the sand. She seemed to like it and dozed off for a bit. I think the plane trip was long. Joey hadn't flown her first class. And we all know how rough steerage can be.

She absolutely forced me to call this photo "Surf and Turf."

Jolicoeur was genuinely distressed at the plight of the Florida Sea Turtle. I guess now I'm going to have to buy a new car license plate.

On the way back we found out why we couldn't get a trolley. Jolicoeur thinks it is discrimination to expect a cow to wave.

Jolicoeur said it is rude for a proper cow to pass up wine. I think she is just cheap.

She claimed it was the long trip followed by the day in the sun. I bet she just wasn't used to strong Florida wines.
That was our day. We're looking forward to a few more adventures around our adopted state of Florida.
