Maybe she read Wells?
When I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the future of the human race. ~H.G. Wells
Every day that it doesn't rain I take my trusty Raleigh and bike to my daughter's school. I bring her home in our trusty trailer. She sits back, has a fruit juice, and watches the scenery.
It's better than a quick ride in a car for both of us. I get exercise and she gets to relax and we get to talk about her day.
We're very careful. There's a corner near her school where drivers often run the stop light. Once a car that did stop was slammed by a car that didn't. So I always pay close attention to the drivers to make sure they see me.
Today, evidently one driver felt I wasn't paying close enough attention.
I was on my way slowly biking toward the corner when I heard a woman yell "Hey, pal!"
I looked across the median to see a woman in a mini-van. She was flashing me.
She said "How ya doing?" and drove off.
I don't think she was from these parts. That wasn't a Southern accent.
