Clerks II

Joel Siegel says Clerks II is the first film he's walked out of in 30 years. Can you trust a man who watched Ishtar and Doc Savage: Man of Bronze both to the end?
If you've read the plot centers on "Randal being Randal and Dante realizing he needs to grow up" you've been led askew. The film proves Smith can write adult films without leaving the View Askew universe. I liked it, but I liked Jersey Girl, Mallrats and Dogma. So, what the hell do I know?
I just left the film right behind four of Smith's prime demographic. They were laughing and already quoting lines.
Then the guy with the fire department t-shirt said to his friends, "I haven't felt like this walking out of a movie in years. I love those guys. In a totally heterosexual way, of course."
I have no idea what Seigel was upset about. At the time he walked out of the film nothing offensive had occurred. That all came later. Not that you wouldn't expect something over-the-edge from Smith. Face it, he doesn't write for the Steel Magnolias crowd.
This isn't a film you have to see in the theatre, but if you're in that Smith crowd your friends will start quoting lines this weekend and you'll want to be prepared. Now, I have to go talk to my pastor about the trolls.
