The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Organization has designated a new symbol - the Crystal Rouge. The idea is to find a symbol that is neutral to Muslims and Christians. The idea is to use the crystal alone or "a national society can choose to display a previously and effectively used symbol". I propose we combine the Red Crystal with the Flying Spagetti Monster Obviously, the FSM is a neutral symbol for all countries. Ramen.
"Crystal Rouge" is only going to confuse people -- some will misread it as "Crystal Rogue" and think it's the plot of the new X-Men movie, some will think it's new type of make-up, and some will just be baffled by the Stan Lee-style "noun-adjective" word order ("Now, Doom will use the Crystal Rouge to absorb the Power Cosmic! Soon I, er, Doom, will be INVINCIBLE!")
Anyway, I suggest renaming it "The Red Rhombus". Aside from the apparent alliterative appeal, it will encourage children to learn geometry!

Of course, those crazies were naming in French. And they have down pat that whole noun-adjective word order.
At least my wife tells me that is true.
She is speaking in French when doing so.
And I don't speak French. So I smile and nod to my four-year old daughter.
Who translates for her idiot father.
My wife speaks perfect English. She just wants to torture me.
(Oh, and I like Red Rhombus much better.)

I figured it was something like that... Spanish is the same way. Still, whenever I see that word order in English, part of my brain sees it in a white bubble over a Jack Kirby panel.
Congratulations on your bilingual daughter. Keep her a secret, though... in another 20 years, fluency in a foreign language will probably be a deportation -worthy offense.
