What the Hell Was Fox Sports Thinking?
They introduced the Latino Legends Team segment with shots of great Latino ballplayers. The theme music was Tu' vuo' fa' l'americano. Years of great music from Latin America and they picked Tu' vuo' fa' l'americano?!
Understand my disbelief. They chose to feature the Latino players while playing a song written* in an Italian dialect about foolish Italians who are aping American culture.
The song title roughly translates as "You Want to Play the American?"
you want to play the American, the American... listen to me, what's the use of it? you want to live fashionably but if you drink "whisky and Soda", then you feel dizzy you dance "rock 'n' roll"; you play "baseball" but the money for Camel, who's gonna give it to you?? Mamma's bag..-- Translation by Delia at the Matt Damon Column.
I wonder which Fox Sports idiot thought the song was written in Spanish? Or, worse, thought Italy was in Latin America.
