I do not shop at Wal-Mart
The following is an opinion piece. The reader is left to investigate the facts. I've already done my homework.
Wal-Mart is not your friend. Wal-Mart is not "America's Store." Wal-Mart does not improve your life. Wal-Mart does not really save you money. Wal-Mart was not elected America's Censor. Wal-Mart does not care about your neighborhood. Wal-Mart does not care about your family. Wal-Mart doesn't care about you. You're a way to make Wal-Mart owners even more obscenely well-off. The clerks certainly aren't getting rich.
Wal-Mart is in it for the money. Period. In the short term and the long run. Dollars. Cents. Checks. Credit. Wal-Mart will take it all and move it out of your community. Of course, Wal-Mart will throw a few shekels to a local charity. And then they'll write it off.
They don't get any of my money. Not in their crappy neighborhood stores or one of their mega wattage stupor stores. Not even in one of their cleverly named "Sam's" stores.
Do I feel strongly about how horrible Wal-Mart is as a corporation? How about this: If you give Wal-Mart any money you are screwing yourself and your neighbors. Period.
I don't believe Wal-Mart notices I don't shop there. But my local businesses notice me. I like that.
