Left Behind
A few years ago I moved. I left behind quite a bit of my past. A bit of it came back today. My friend Brad brought me a box that I had left behind. Diploma, awards, my baby book, and other proof I've actually lived.
And an undated letter in handwriting I recognize as mine:
Dear Dad,
I miss you. I want to see you soon. I just got some new paperback books. My favorite is Championship. It is about NFC title games. I have got a book on the Harlem Globetrotters. I got a book on the Partridge Family. It only cost me 40¢. This girl is going to buy it for $1.00. Did you know that the Chicago Bears beat the Washington Redskins 73-0 in 1940?
Love,
signed
P.S. Gogi and me want to come to you. We miss you very much.
I couldn't mail the letter. We didn't know where he was.
