Curiosities of Biological Nomenclature

This really belongs over at languagehat, but I was ready to post when my long suffering wife fed my pun addiction. She sent me to a website list of odd biological terms: Curiosities of Biological Nomenclature. Many are scientific names which are simply funny, but a few are punny. My favorite:

"Ptomaspis, Dikenaspis, Ariaspis (Devonian armored jawless fish)

Remove the '-aspis' to see the pun."
