Daughter

Met with older daughter today. Strike that. Met with older daughter and her mother. Damn that was stressful. The gulf is too wide. What she expects out of older daughter and what I expect. Way way too wide.

We discussed what needed to be done. Better yet, I felt like I had to mediate. We negotiated. She needs strength and her mother can't give it to her. And she doesn't want it from me. I'm too questioning. I'm too direct. I'm too pushy.

I think she's realized what we all fear --- we'll be like our parents.
